DXN Biofuels Sdn. Bhd and DXN Oleochemicals Sdn. Bhd are the subsidiaries of DXN Holdings Bhd. Our principal activities are production and trading of methyl ester (biodiesel).
Biodiesel is the name of a clean burning alternative fuel which is produced from renewable resources, e.g. vegetable oil. Biodiesel contains no petroleum but it can be blended at any level with petroleum diesel to create biodiesel blend. It can be used in compression-ignition diesel engines which require no modifications. Biodiesel is simple to use, biodegradable, nontoxic and essentially free of sulfur.
Biodiesel is made through a chemical process called transesterification whereby the glycerin is separated from the fat or vegetable oil. The process leaves behind two products- methyl esters (the chemical name for biodiesel) and glycerin (a valuable by-product usually sold to be used in soaps and other products).
Biodiesel is better for the environment because it is made from renewable resources and has lower emissions compared to petroleum diesel. It is less toxic than table salt and biodegrades as fast as sugar.
We produce and sell biodiesel made from clean vegetable oil under the brand name "DXN Biodiesel". DXN certifies that its pure DXN Biodiesel (B100) meets the ASTM D6751-06 and EN14214 standards when sold as transportation fuel. It can be used as pure fuel (B100) or blended with petroleum in any proportion.
Our biodiesel projects will be implemented in Kuantan Port Industrial Area, Pahang Malaysia and in Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC), Sabah Malaysia. Two biodiesel plants with an annual capacity of 400,000MT will be built in Pahang and another two more biodiesel plants with a similar annual capacity of 400,000MT will be built in Sabah in addition to a 500,00MT of palm oil refinery mill. Therefore, over the next four years, DXN will have four biodiesel plants with a total annual production capacity of 800,000MT, making it one of the largest biodiesel producers in Asian region.
In addition, we also undertake a turnkey biodiesel project services, i.e. constructing biodiesel plant, feedstock intake arrangement and biodiesel market/off - take arrangement.
